We Place Only Composite Fillings
At Gardell Dental, we use only Composite Fillings. Otherwise known as white fillings or tooth-colored fillings, composite fillings enable us to match the filling to the exact color of the tooth. The composite filling material is bonded to the tooth creating a tight fit and preventing sensitivity. The entire process is completed in an hour or less. Afterwards, the tooth looks and feels natural, and it is impossible to discern the difference between the filling and the tooth.
We Replace Amalgam Fillings
We are an amalgam-free practice, which means that we do not place any mercury fillings in our office. We do see many patients with old mercury fillings in need of replacement. Most patients do not like having the mercury or seeing the metal in their teeth. Over time, amalgam fillings can wear down, become weak or break. This compromises the tooth structure and enables cavities to form. Fortunately, mercury fillings can be replaced with composite fillings in one visit.
